In short
whirligig has no accounts, no cookies and no ads, and doesn't track you from site to site. It never asks for your name or email.
On your device
So that whirligig opens the way you left it, your browser keeps three things in its local storage:
- your filters and settings;
- the gigs you've liked;
- a random number that sets the order gigs are shuffled into.
They stay on your device and are never sent to us. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes them.
What other services see
As with any website, using whirligig means your browser connects to a few services, and each of them sees your IP address and basic details of your browser:
- Cloudflare hosts the site, and counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. That uses no cookies and shows us only totals: pages viewed, countries, which sites sent visitors, and browser and device types.
- Deezer supplies artist photos and the track previews.
- CARTO supplies the map.
- unpkg supplies the code that draws the map.
Ticket links take you to the sellers' own sites, where their privacy policies apply.
Why, and for how long
This is the minimum needed to run the site and to understand, in total, how it's used. whirligig doesn't keep any personal data itself.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what personal data is held about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Since whirligig keeps none, there's usually nothing to hand over, but ask @whirligig_live on X and you'll get an answer. If you're unhappy with the answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
